The Classic turned inside out: dark chocolate cookie, white chocolate chunks and whole almonds. Often imitated, never replicated.Get this cookie today
There’s Frank Epperson’s accidental discovery of the popsicle. He mixed up a flavoured drink, left the spoon in the glass but then left the container outside one winter’s day. It froze. Voila, an obviously lickable treat.
The Reverse® came about because George was watching his favourite soap while making a batch of cookies. He was distracted by Dr. Drake’s miraculous bedside manner and started pouring dark cocoa to the Classic mix. Turning off the Hobart (that’s Cookie Speak for ‘mixer’) he knocked a bunch of almonds into the batter.
At that point, he figured he’d already turned the Classic ‘inside out’ so why not just add white chocolate chunks? This happy mishap took place 30 years ago, and since then George’s Reverse cookie is often imitated, never replicated.
