We understand that for certain occasions, such as birthdays and anniversaries, the delivery date is very important. We will do our best to make sure that your gift is delivered on the date you select, but we cannot guarantee an exact delivery date. Occasionally, conditions beyond our control may delay your delivery, such as bad weather or insufficient delivery information.
For that extra-important gift, consider sending it out a day earlier. We especially recommend this for Friday deliveries because our courier may not deliver on weekends, meaning that a delay would push delivery of your gift to the following Monday.
To reduce the risk of delay, please make sure that your delivery information is accurate and include anything that may be necessary for our courier: buzzer numbers, security restrictions, business hours, etc. You will be responsible for extra delivery charges due to additional delivery attempts.
Please make sure that we have your daytime contact information should we need to contact you.
We are able to make deliveries within Edmonton and Calgary on Saturdays. For web orders, please call or e-mail head office prior to placing your order. You may also call a store directly to phone in an order.
For holidays, certain locations will deliver on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day on a Sunday. We do not offer delivery on Canadian statutory holidays. Please note that since our out-of-town deliveries are overnight, we are not able to offer out-of-town delivery on the day following a statutory holiday.
We can deliver to hotel visitors and hospital patients but you must make sure that they will be there on the scheduled delivery date. If the recipient has checked out by the time your gift is delivered, we cannot be held responsible.
For deliveries to hospitals, please note whether the delivery is going to a patient or staff member and include as much information as you can (building name, ward, room and floor number, department, etc.).
For deliveries to hotels, please note whether the delivery is going to a guest or staff and include as much information as you can (check-in and check-out dates, room number, if they are with a group or under a company name, etc.).
If you only have a PO Box address, we will ship your gift through Canada Post. Please note that Canada Post may not inform them of the delivery. We do not offer a refund or redelivery for cookies which have not been picked up from the Post Office.
For PO Box addresses in the US, we recommend providing a physical address for the recipient instead. All of our US shipments are made via FedEx, who must pass on PO box parcels to USPS to complete delivery. We cannot be held responsible for cookies mishandled or refused by USPS.
We do not send out delivery confirmations. If we encounter a problem that we cannot solve while delivering your order, we will contact you as soon as possible. Please make sure that you enter a phone number or email address that we can reach you at when you order.
We do not provide delivery tracking on our website. For out-of-town orders, you may contact head office at firstname.lastname@example.org for a FedEx, Purolator or Canada Post tracking number.
Local orders do not have tracking numbers.
The delivery cost, determined by postal code, is based on what our courier charges us. Because our cookies are baked fresh and do not contain preservatives, we use the quickest shipping method available to make sure your cookies arrive as fresh as possible!
Delivery charges depend on the postal/zip code. Our local delivery charge is $12 and applies to postal codes in Edmonton & St. Albert, Calgary, Regina, and Winnipeg. This cost is already included in our gift prices. Central Vancouver and Central Sherwood Park require an additional $1 charge.
For all other postal zones, additional delivery charges are calculated during checkout when you pick a delivery date. Leduc/Nisku and some Greater Vancouver areas have special discounted shipping rates which will also be shown at the same point in checkout.
For local shipping, cookies are shipped out and delivered on the same day.
Shipping is overnight for most out-of-town locations, and may take 2 or 3 days for the Maritimes, the Territories, and some rural locations. We require a lead time of at least 1 business day for all out-of-town locations. We do not ship out-of-town deliveries for Mondays.
All mainland USA deliveries are scheduled for overnight priority delivery. Please keep in mind that border delays may occur.
"Local delivery" refers to delivery in cities where there is a Cookies By George store. This includes the main city areas of Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, and Winnipeg. Suburbs of these cities may or may not be considered local delivery.
All other cities or towns are considered out-of-town.
For business addresses, the gift can be received by a coworker or a receptionist. The gift may also be left in care of a mailroom, receiving department, or security desk depending on the receiving policies of the delivery address.
For residential addresses, we can leave the gift at the door if no one answers the door. Alternatively, you may request that we call the recipient ahead of time to arrange the delivery.
For apartments and condominiums, gifts can only be left with a concierge.
If our courier is unable to deliver a gift, or they decide that it is not secure to leave the gift at the door, the gift will be held with our courier’s nearest depot or returned to a local store. If we do not have sufficient delivery instructions or if the recipient is not available to receive the gift, you will be responsible for any additional charges due to multiple delivery attempts.
Our typical delivery window is between 12PM to 5PM on weekdays for local deliveries. If you would like delivery during a specific time frame, you may write your request in “Special Instructions” and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Please note that for out-of-town deliveries, we cannot guarantee our courier will deliver within specific time windows.
